Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In an April 2006 television interview, David Beckham openly discussed his struggles with OCD, for the first time. For Beckham, the disorder centers around organization. "I've got that problem. I'll go into a hotel room. Before I can relax I have to move all the leaflets and all the books and put them in a drawer. Everything has to be perfect," Beckham told the interviewer (Daily Mail). Beckham has been known to spend hours organizing in this way.


Treatment(s) Received:
Beckham has not discussed any treatments for his OCD. All he has said about getting over the disorder is, "I would like to. I've tried and I can't stop." (Daily Mail)


Brief Biography:
David Beckham was born May 2, 1975 in Leytonstone, England. He began playing football or soccer while a schoolboy, representing the county of Essex, and continues to play, currently for the Real Madrid Football Club. Beckham is well-known for his skills as a football player but also for his star appeal. He married Victoria Adams (or "Posh" of The Spice Girls) in July 1999. David and Victoria have three children, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz.
