i just wanted to put some of these tips out there that have helped my friend during his battle with panic attacks.
number one: it helps to loose the fear, he used to have horrible fear of panic attacks and that fear was his main cause of them, he would feel the onset of symptoms and he would get scared and this in turn would give him a horrible attack. he learned that no matter where he is, he can control his panic attacks by floating through them and not aggravating them.
number two: face your fears, anger helps. if you fear something you will always fear it unless you face it. desensitize yourself. when he was younger he was very afraid of heights, so he decided he didnt want to be, so he started by climbing a drilling tower it was very frightful but he felt great when he got down. he then climbed a cell phone tower(very very high). he used this same method for his anxiety these days. little by little push your limits for example get in your car and drive to the end of the road and back. then next time go a little farther then farther. wait for that day when your just raging mad and say to yourself i hate this anxiety crap jump in your car and go do something you used to do before you felt anxiety. accomplishing something like this does wonders for your self esteem.
three: do something pleasurable. its hard to get a anxiety attack when your feeling pleasure or anger. they just dont mix. do something you enjoy play with a pet, garden, or build something, clean your room anything to get your mind off of your anxiety, he personally recomend sex its the best.
think about it youve had all these panic attacks and every time you were absolutely sure that you were going to die, but you didnt it was just a panic attack. he had lived like this for the last 3 years and he had horrible attacks but as time goes on they have lessened in their potency because they no longer scare him.
eat well sleep well and try to get rid of all the stress in your life. but the number one thing is conquering your fear. panic attacks are like a demon, if you feed it with fear, worries, and doubt it will grow and over power you. but if you starve it by not validating it you will see it diminish and feel your attacks lessen. the worse thing you can do is stay in your room and watch tv all day, he did that for about 4 months and he was in constant anxiety. walk around try to get a little bit of physical activity and then go rest.
dont worry about what anyone thinks or tells you they wouldnt understand unless they spent a day in your shoes, if he would have met someone with panic attacks before he started having them he would just have told them,"dude its just in your head" get over it. but its not like that at all. use your anxiety, when he feel anxious he use that, he will work on his car or something like that to use that energy otherwise it will just get wasted on a panic attack.
for a long time he lived his life to the mercy of his anxiety. he stayed home all day watching tv indoors and doing nothing, friends would invite me places and he would turn them down. now he and his anxiety are like friends they coexist sometimes they do what it wants to do but most of the time they do what he want to do. he just tried to pick up the pieces and start living again where he left off he is 21 now and just trying to live the way he would if he didnt have panic attacks. he hope that this might help someone.
so i recommed everyone to try out this cuz there are no side
effects and this tips would really help everyone who are going through anxiety and phobias cuz by friend had been through great pain and after apply this tips he is much better now and after seeing him getting well , i thought of putting those tips out here so that others can also benefit from that .
take care
thanks,
minxy.
