Anxiety and Depression Medications
Anxiety and depression are two major issues in a person's life that do not
only affect him
or her emotionally but psychologically, physically and socially as well.
If you are almost too often anxious and/or depressed, chances are you haven't
lived your life normally.
Much has been done in terms of studies, research and discovery of medications to give alleviation to patients
under such cases.
Drugs used to treat symptoms of anxiety are known as anxiolytics and even referred to as "minor tranquilizers"
while depression medications used to alleviate mood disorders such as a major depression are known as
antidepressants.

unpredictable patterns of mood and behavior.

• Anxiety – may be characterized by excessive worry about everyday life events and
this may even be for no apparent reasons for worry. When you are engulfed by anxiety, you tend to expect disaster
and could not keep yourself from worrying about issues including health, finances, family, work or school. If the
worry becomes more frequent and more unrealistic or out of proportion, this is one concern that should be
confronted with a medical consultation and diagnosis for the proper medication otherwise, this state of anxiousness
could only elevate. A person's daily life is a constant state of worry, fear, and dread and this tends to dominate
his thinking thus interfering with his daily function and is visible even in his relationships.
• Depression - is a mental disorder characterized by an all-encompassing low mood and coupled with having a low
self-esteem. A depressed person experiences loss of interest or pleasure in normally activities that is previously
perceived as enjoyable. The low mood episodes pervade all aspects of his life. A depressed person may be
preoccupied with thoughts and feelings of worthlessness, inappropriate guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, and
self-hatred. There could be a possibility of depression evolving into one severe case where the depressed person
could develop symptoms of psychosis including delusions or hallucinations and they are usually of an unpleasant
nature.
Having to undergo anxiety or depression would entail you having to go through a rigid analysis and diagnosis of
your level of anxiety and depression. And with such cases, corresponding medications ought to be applied.
Anxiety and depression medications in the forms of anxiolytics and
anti-depressants may in a way alleviate the episodes of anxiety and depression.
However, worst case scenario, an appropriate psycho-therapy should be done at the same time. One requisite of an
anxious and depressed person to move out of his current state is to overcome that stage of denial.
With the help and support of family and friends and an understanding community, anxiety and depression
medications are more effective.
